Another great event is shaping up for Spanish gourmandizing!

On Saturday, Feb 23 from 3pm – 7pm  La Nacional restaurant at centro Español opens its doors for an afternoon of grazing Spanish style. La Nacional is one of the best kept secrets of New York Spanish dining, run by the same people who run the Socarrat restaurants – seriously the best paellas in town! – but this one is priced for Spanish ex-pats. So, Saturday Feb 23, from 3-7pm come for the food, come for the beer, come for the cider and come for the fiesta!

Who says lunch is over by 3pm? In Spain 3 o’clock is just the right hour to roll in from a morning (and early afternoon) of chores and fun activities, with a mighty thirst and appetites piqued, and to spend a few hours grazing with your amigos…..eating tapas, drinking beer and cider, and playing fuzbal at the local pub.

Come and while away the afternoon with 5 styles of  Iberian craft beer, funky and brut espumossa(champagne) styles of cider from Asturias and a wide variety of tapas for only $35. Spanish futbal (soccer) will be on the screen (you think the superbowl gets people riled up – just watch Spaniards cheer their teams on!). La buena vida!

To keep things especially lively there will also be a cider pouring competition (so don’t wear your favorite sweater and jeans, even though cider doesn’t stain), and blind beer style tasting and, if we can get the table in, a fuzball tournament!
